Julius H. Schindorff aged 83 years, 7 months, 28 days, almost a lifelong resident of the East Lynne area, died last Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hollis Dale after an illness of several months, the body being placed in charge of Hartzler's East Lynne funeral services.
The funeral was conducted last Sunday at the East Lynne Methodist Church, the Rev. L. H. Westphal, Harrisonville Methodist pastor being the minister in charge. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at the side of Mr. Schindorff's, wife, Flora, who died Feb. 26, 1947.
Singing incident to the service was by Walter Yoder, R. C. Harter, W. B. Schrock, and A. R. Schrock. Mrs. Lewis Barnes played piano accompaniments. Pallbearers were J. W. Dale, Billy J. Dale, Robt. Lee Schindorff, Chas. Gibson, Chas. Pfaff, Fred Stimetz.
Mr. Schindorff, son of Paul and Cornelia Schindorff, was born near East Lynne, March, 3, 1874. He married Flora C. Roupe of Lone Jack, May 12, 1902. Their home was established on a farm between East Lynne and Pleasant Hill where they spent their married life. Since the death of his companion, Mr. Schindorff had spent some of his time in the home of a son, Herbert, at Lenexa, Kas.
Mr. Schindorff, who joined the Methodist church at an early age, is survived by five: children-Tommie Schindorff, Kansas City; Mrs. Hollis (Mary) Dale and Mrs. Jesse (Estelle) Braden, both of East Lynne; Mrs. Fred (Adelia) Suter, La-Grange, Ill., Herbert above noted. There are 12 grandchildren. Also there is one brother, Herman Schindorff of East Lynne.
