SOUTH BEND - C. Hillman Mathis, 85, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 29, at Sanctuary at St. Paul's retirement community in South Bend. His wife of 59 years, Ann, was at his side. He is also survived by his son, Thomas H. (Kim); and grandchildren Lauren (Chris) Malmstrom, Michael (Andrea), and Virginia. Visitation will be Thursday, July 2nd from 11:30 to 1 p.m. in Ridout's Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave. Southwest, Birmingham, AL, 35211. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery will be immediately following the service.
