Fonnie Beatrice (Bea) Rogers, 92, of Hulbert, departed this life on Sunday, June 28, 2009 in Tahlequah, OK. The funeral service will be at 2 PM Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Phil Buford and the Reverend Harry Henderson will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday. Mrs. Rogers was born October 23, 1916 in Arkansas to John Iverson and Esther (Starkey) Charles. She married William Clarence Rogers on June 9, 1934. Affectionately known by many as "Granny Bea", she will be remembered as one who always put others first. Bea loved to sew and quilt, garden and can, and even made her own lye soap. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Thelma and Howard Lawson of Hulbert; grandchildren and their spouses, Patsy and Justin Glover of Warner, Loresta and Phillip Buford of Hulbert and Davis and Beth Lawson of Newcastle; great grandchildren, Amanda and Junior Butler, Justin Buford, all of Hulbert, and Ryley Lawson and Laney Lawson, both of Newcastle; one great great grand daughter, Emma Butler of Hulbert; four sisters and spouses, Mildred Cooper of Broken Arrow, Lena and Lee Willis of Owasso, Lorene and Jack Henderson of Coweta and Vivian (Tiny) Rutherford of Tahlequah; a sister-in-law, Fannie Rogers of Tahlequah; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1984; her parents, an infant daughter, Patricia Ann, and an infant brother. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hulbert. Pallbearers will be David Lawson, Stan Rutherford, Justin Buford, Junior Butler Justin Glover, Keith Hood, Tom Henderson and Clifford Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Willard Cooper, J.D. Rogers and John Nichols.
