Ida Elzadia "Elzadie" (Pierce) Gooch

Daughter of William Washington Pierce & R Della Reynolds.

Married Burt Lee Franklin "Frank" Gooch

25 Apr 1943

"Elzadie" has two markers in Boone Co. Ark. One marker next to her husband Frank & Franks first wife Sarah Ethel Milam in Milam cemetery. Elzadie was buried next to her beloved 1st great granddaughter Amy Rose Remondini (1979-1981) in Maplewood Cemetery.

The family had to make the hard decision to place Elzadie next to her great granddaughter and not next to her husband Frank. Elzadie would tell Frank's daughter Leona often, "Amy's all by herself in Maplewood & Daddy (Frank) is with your Mama (Sarah) in Milam". Leona said her Mama Elzadie never flat out said to be buried by Amy but she though it would make Elzadie happy.

Elzadie passed away at Boone County Hospital heart problems. She died with her step daughter Leona stroking her forehead talking about getting / setting her hair. She took her last breath in the loving comfort of her step daughter Leona Gooch Miller presents, kind words and care. Leona who was a loving step daughter she called Elzadie Mama.

Grandma grew a huge garden every year, canned veggies and fruit from her orchard. Quilted, sewed, crocheted, enjoyed reading westers, and watching her "Storys" TV shows. She was a nurse at Boone County hospital from the day they opened until she retired. After retirement volunted as a pink lady, Easter Star member & attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
