ONTARTIO, Wis. — David E. Parkhurst, 58, of Ontario died Friday, Aug. 6, in a Viroqua hospital
after a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Baptist Church in Ontario, Rev. Charles Anderson officiating and burial will be in the New Ontario Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home in Wilton and at the church Tuesday after 12:30 p.m.
He was born in Andover, Mo., May 8, 1913, to Mr. and Mrs. Victor Parkhurst, and he married Graceland Shackleton in 1934. They moved to Wisconsin in 1955. Mr. Parkhurst was the former maintenance man at the Ontario Grade School, but had retired due to ill health.
Survivors are his widow; one son, Glendel of Janesville; five daughters, Mrs. William Roberts of Sparta, Mrs. LeRoy Fish of Ontario, Mrs. Rita Travis of Cudahy, Wis., Reva Jo and Vicky, at home; five brothers, Orville of Hatfield, Mo., Floyd of Ottawa, Kan., Elza, Clarence and Garland, all of Eagleville, Mo.; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Willis of Eagleville, Mrs. Wilma Lewis of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Dean Hale of Torrence, Calif., Mrs. Odrey Bowen of New Hampton, Mo., and Mrs. Lucille Bruce of Kansas City, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
