Sarah OLORENSHAW was born on September 6, 1867 in Cheylesmore, Coventry, Warwickshire, England, the daughter of Timothy Olorenshaw and Sarah Nichols.

On September 4, 1872, Sarah left Liverpool, England on the steamship Minnesota. The ship record listed her mother, Sarah, and siblings; Timothy, Elizabeth, Thomas, Jane, John, Joseph and Bessy. Her father, Timothy is not listed. They arrived in New York, New York on September 16, 1872.

Sarah married James Henry TAYLOR, son of Charles Barber Taylor and Martha Burrows, on July 1, 1887 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. The marriage was performed by William L.N. Allen, Elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of L.D.S. Witnesses were Charles B. Taylor and Martha B. Taylor (parents to James). [Source: FHL US/CAN (Film 429053), Book A, Page 90]

MARRIED. TAYLOR--OLORENSHAW-- On the evening of Friday, July 1st, 1887, James H. Taylor, son of C. B. Taylor, of Butcherville, and Miss Sadie Olorenshaw, second daughter of Mrs. Timothy (deceased) and Mrs. Sarah Olorenshaw, of the Twenty-first Ward, were united in wedlock. Bishop W. L. N. Allen performed the ceremony, after which twenty two ladies and gentlemen partook of a most sumptuous repast. After supper, a very enjoyable company assembled in the parlor of Mr. Taylor's residence; vocal and instrumental music was indulged in until the hour of 12, when the company dispersed. Many were the good wishes heaped upon the happy pair.

"Sarah O. Taylor ~ Funeral services will be conducted Saturday for Mrs. Sarah Olorenshaw Taylor, 83, who died Wednesday at 9:30 p.m at the residence of son, William Henry Taylor, 851 Genesee Ave., of causes incident to age.

She was born in Coventry, England, April 10, 1867 [6 Sep 1867], to Timothy and Sarah Nichols, Olorenshaw. She came to Utah from England in 1872 with her parents as converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

On July 1, 1886 [1887], she married James Henry Taylor in Salt Lake, [he died] 1928.

She had been a Relief Society teacher in the Twenty-seventh and Twenty-sixth wards for more than 50 years.
Surviving are a son and a daughter, William Henry Taylor, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Elsie Sainsbury, Tooele; one sister, Mrs. Jane O. Rowe, Salt Lake City; ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Twenty-Sixth Ward chapel, Seventh South and Ninth West Streets, under the direction of Bishop Grant M. Burbidge. Burial will be in Salt Lake City Cemetery.

Friends may call at 36 East Seventh South St. Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the residence, 851 Genesee Ave., Saturday from 10 a.m. to services."

Cause of Death: Diabetes Millitis, Arterio Sclerosis, Cerebral Thrombosis.
