Mrs. Suzanne Marie "Sue" Giddens of Waycross left this earth Tuesday morning (June 30, 2009).
She was born on September 2, 1947 in Melbourne, FL. She has been a resident of Ware County for the past fifty-six years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Thrift and Cleo Sikes Thrift; adoptive father, Groce B. McClellan; brothers, Pete Griemel, Daniel Thrift, and Bill Thrift; and sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Cady and Mary Katherine Eck.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Obe Giddens of Telmore, GA; one son, Jeff Giddens (wife Michelle) of Statesboro, GA; one daughter, Marsha Harding (husband Robert) of Blackshear, GA; adoptive mother, Adell Thrift McClellan of Waycross; sister, Joyce "Jody" Rouse of Waycross; four brothers, Paul Thrift, Leslie Thrift of Alabama, Michael McClellan of Savannah, and Tony Griemel of Melbourne, FL; her beloved grandchildren, Jeffery Harding, Blackshear, and Ariana Giddens, Statesboro. Aunt "Sue" is remembered with special fondness by niece, Shannon Woodard of Hoboken; and many other devoted family and friends. She will be forever remembered as a loving and gentle soul who loved to laugh and who also loved her family more than life.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday (July 2, 2009) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memoriam will be by cremation.
