Barnabas Beasley, one of Perry County's pioneer citizens; was born in North Carolina, on the 18th of May, 1812. His father, John P. Beasley, was born in the same State as himself and married Lucy Ellis, also of North Carolina. Out of their family of seven children, only four are living. They came to Tennessee in 1815, and located on Stone River, in Rutherford County, where they resided two years, and then took up their abode in Williamson County. John P. died in 1848, and his wife in 1851. Our subject resided with his parents until their respective deaths, and in 1852 came to Perry County, Locating at his present home. His farm consists of 675 acres on Coon Creek, and Mr. Beasley may be considered a prosperous and substantial citizen of the county.
