, 87, died at 11:14 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, following a brief illness.

Edna Rosalie Bryant, the eighth of 12 children of John Barry Bryant and Rose Zella Trimble Williams, was born December 29, 1914, at Sunnyside, Ottawa County, Okla.

She attended Cherry Grove School, Quapaw High School and Joplin Business College. In 1967, at the age of 53, she became a student at Missouri Southern State College, and in 1970 she graduated from Franklin Technical School of Practical Nursing. As a professional licensed practical nurse, she specialized in private duty.

She lived in Joplin since 1961.

Her skills as an organic gardener and her talent as a writer have been recognized by "Organic Gardening Magazine".

She was a member of the Missouri Licensed Practical Nurses Association and was an experienced Certified Laubach Reading instructor.

Edna was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church and often visited Duenweg Christian Church.

On August 21, 1937, she married Walter Dee Dannelley in Mount Vernon, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1967.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Jane Valencia of the home and Rose Ann Bacon and her husband, Johnnie, of Joplin; two sons, Walter Dee Dannelley Jr. and his wife, Patsy, of Carl Junction, and Hal Lee Dannelley and his wife, Cherylann, of Diamond; two granddaughters, Tracey Thomas and her husband, Dusty, of Sacramento, Calif., and Annah Smith and her husband, Stacey, of Carthage; three grandsons, Joel Dannelley of Carl Junction, Kyle Dannelley of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Andrew Bacon of Joplin; three great-granddaughters, Kelsey Coralene, Madison Marie and Kylie Alana; a sister, Ruth Bailey of Galena, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.

Her sisters, Bonnie, Ethel, Pauline, Juanita, Kathleen and Ann; and brothers, Ralph, Clifton, Hal and Earl, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at Duenweg Christian Church, 5803 East 20th St. at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2002. John Pierce and Stacey Smith will officiate.

Family members serving as pallbearers will include Joel Dannelley, Kyle Dannelley, Andrew Bacon and Stacey Smith.

Interment will be at Osborne Memorial Cemetery, Joplin.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2002, at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
