Birch River - Harry A. Rose, 82, of Birch River died Nov. 4, 1995, at Summersville Memorial Hospital, Summersville, after a short illness.

He was a native of Nicholas County, a retired deputy assessor for the Nicholas County assessor's office, a self-employed mechanic, past member of Birch River Ruritans Club and a past member and squad leader of Birch River Rescue Squad. He was a member of Rose Hill United Methodist Church, near Birch River, for 70 years.

Surviving: wife, Lucille Rose; stepson, Bruce Hamrick of Maysville; stepdaughters, Linda Moore of Charleston, Naomi Ashley of West Chester, OH, Shelia Eads of Greer SC; brother, Austin of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; sister, Audrey Woods of Marlinton; nine stepchildren; one step-great granddaughter.

Service was hel on Monday at the Green-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, with the Rev. John D. Walls officiating. Burial was at the Rose Hill Cemetery, near Birch River.
