Mr. Lloyd Howard Smith, Sr. age 84, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas died Monday, June 29, 2009 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born March 30, 1925 in Yuma, Arizona. He was the owner and operator, along with his son Marty, in the trucking business from 1989-2006. He was a 50 year member of the Operating Engineer Local #3 in Fresno, California and a member of the 1st Southern Baptist Church of Crossroads.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Ava Lee Drake Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice Faye Keller Smith; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd H. Jr. and Anne Smith of El Dorado, Arkansas, Derrell W. and Linda Smith of Clovis, California and Marty K. and Sonja Smith of Foreman, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, , J.D. and Molly Smith of Sanger, California; six grandchildren, Lisa Slater, Rick Smith, Erin Simmons, J.R. Smith, Kaitlyn Smith and Kaleb Smith and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Smith will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in the 1st Southern Baptist Church of Crossroads with Pastor Chris Fowler and Pastor Gary Steiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30th at the funeral home
