Mr. Willis Oswald "Oz" Cason, 84, passed away in his sleep Saturday night (January 28, 2012) at Satilla Care Center.

He was a native of Jamestown, and he resided most of his life in Waycross as a 1944 graduate of Waycross High School. He joined the United States Navy after high school and served during World War II. After 38 years of service, he retired from BellSouth in 1986 as an electronic technician. He was a member of Jamestown United Methodist Church, Civitan Club, BPOE Elks Club and life member of V.F.W.

He is the son of the late Samuel David Cason and Beulah Louise Lovett Cason. He is preceded in death by three sisters, Loyce Cason Hitt, Edna Muriel Cason and Hilda Elian.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Hazel Tanner Cason of Waycross; one son, Rev. Steve Cason (wife Judi) of Waycross; two grandchildren, Sean Randall Cason and Lana Diane Cason Rogers (husband Gabe); three great grandchildren, Jaela Rogers, Gabriella Rogers and Amber Cason; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday (January 31, 2012) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Jamestown United Methodist Church, 2055 Vann Rd, Waycross, GA 31503, or Satilla Care Center, 1600 Riverside Ave., Waycross, GA 31501.
