Ray Manuel Abeyta was the son of Gorginio Abeyta and Julianita "Julia" Archuletta. He married Arsenia Irene Trujillo on Jan 24, 1938 in Lumberton, New Mexico. They were the parents of George, Richard, and Lorainne Abeyta.

DRAGERTON, Carbon County- Requiem Mass for Ray Abeyta, 53, former Dragerton resident, who died of injuries suffered in a coal mine cave-in Nov. 4 at Somerset, Colo., will be Saturday 10 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Church in Dragerton. Rosary Friday 7 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Chapel, Price, where friends call Friday prior to services. Burial Price City Cemetery.


Born March 27, 1915, Edith, Colo., to Gorginio and Julia Archuletta Abeyta. Married Irene Truillo, Jan. 24, 1938, Lumberton, N.M. Employee, U.S. Steel Corp. at Somerset. Member Catholic Church.


Survivors: widow; sons, daughter, George, Salt Lake City; Richard, Paonia, Colo., Mrs. Lorraine Martinez, Ogden; 5 grandchildren; brothers, sisters, Louie, Albuquerque, N.M.; Emanuel, Joe, both Chama, N.M.; Mrs. Gertrude Ortaga, Mrs. Julia Noriega, both Santa Fe, N.M.; Mrs. Pupita Montoya, Chromo, Colo.
