Son of Spencer Records and Elizabeth Elrod. Laban's second marriage was to Elizabeth Ann Barnett (1806-1859) on 24 Sep 1825. They had 11 children.

Laban's first marriage was to Hannah Bradley (1803-1823) on 9 Sept 1822; she died just 15 months later in Dec 1823.

1850 US FEDERAL CENSUS:

Census dated 27 Aug 1850 of Jackson Township, Shelby County, Indiana, shows Laban RECORDS age 50 and wife Elizabeth age 44. They have eight children living at home - all listed as being born in Indiana. Both parents were born in Kentucky. Value of the farm is $3,200.

1860 US FEDERAL CENSUS:

Census of Jackson Township, Shelby County, Indiana dated 11 Aug 1860, shows Laban RECORDS age 60. Wife Elizabeth died in 1859. Four children, Lydia age 20, Rachel 18, Thompson S. 16, and Harriet 14, are all living at home. Laban's son Spencer C. RECORDS age 30, is the next neighbor.
