The first white birth at Pine Woods. His father, Joshua Leland opened the first Inn, In 1794, and erected the first saw and grist-mill, In 1795.

Col. Uriah Leland built a
slaughter house just north of the barns
on the farm, where for a couple of falls
and winters thousands of sheep and
many hogs were butchered.


1886—The remains of Col. Uriah Leland, who
died nearly 34 years ago, were disinterred
from the Pine Woods cemetery
last week and reinterred in the
family lot in the Morrisville cemetery.
