Mrs. Carl Allen Rites Sunday

Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at Ustick Funeral Home for Mrs. Carl (Ruth) Allen, 66, or Rocky Ford, who passed away Thursday night at Pioneers Memorial Hospital. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic church.

Mrs. Allen was born Nov.28,1904 in Herrin, Ill., to G.E. and Lura Abell. She came to Rocky Ford at the age of two, and spent her entire life here. She was a graduate of Rocky Ford High School, and worked for many years at Rocky Ford National Bank. She was married to Carl Allen on Aug. 1, 1950. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Mrs. Allen was a musician and artist and had won many awards in amateur and professional competition for her china painting.

Survivors include her widower of the home; her mother and one sister, Mrs. Hattie Morris of Rocky Ford; two brothers, Harold Abell of Longview, Wash.,and Clyde Abell of North Hollywood, Calif. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Lucille Green of La Junta. Burial will be in the Rocky Ford Cemetery.
