Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First National Funeral Home Chapel for Jess Gilcrease, 80, of Shreveport, who died at 1:20 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 1971 at Willis-Knighton Hospital after a lengthy illness.

The Rev. Willis B. Russell of Winnfield officiated at the services. Burial was in Springvale [sic Springville] Cemetery in Coushatta.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by four sons, Benton Gilcrease, Benjamin Gilcrease, James Gilcrease, and Bobby Gilcrease, all of Shreveport; and three daughters, Mrs. M. A. Tilman [sic Tillman] of Mary Ester, Fla., Mrs. Lynn McCoy of Winnfield, and Mrs. Macon Duschense [sic Duchesne] of Baskin.
