Earl Lee Ivey, 69, of Cataula died Tuesday at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Friday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, with burial in Parkhill Cemetery.

Mr. Ivey was born July 1, 1923, in Kissimmee, Fla., son of Lillian Mayes Ivey of Thomasville and Dewey Ivey. He. was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, retiring after 20 years. He was active in the Sons of the Confederacy, was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 16 of Hamilton Georgia and was a Shriner.

Survivors other than his mother include his wife Ruth Maudene Ivey, stepson John D. Harmon Sr. of Columbus; a grandson Johnny Harmon Jr. and two great grandsons Joseph William and Adam Lee Harmon.
