Legend has it Jim Berry Shot the outlaw Bill Dark when he was about 16 years old on the Middle Fork of the Little Red River a few miles up river from Present day Shirley, Arkansas, at the mouth of Little Tick Creek in 1864.

Legendary Folk Singer "Jimmy Driftwood" wrote and recorded the song "Click to Play the song The Ballad of Jim Berry." It tells the story.

My information is that Jim outlived 3 of his 4 wives before 1915. He is buried with his second wife and mother of his children. Please if anyone has additional information or corrections, please email me!
