LYDIA EMMA CURRY
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in Peninsula Baptist Church in Portland for Lydia Emma Curry, who died May 18, at age 84.
Lydia Emma Theil was born May 30, 1922 in Ridgefield, Washington. She moved to Portland in 1941 and was a cook for Portland Public Schools central kitchen. A member of the church for more than 55 years, she taught in the Sunday School and was a missionary volunteer and a youth leader. She was also a local president, state officer and volunteer for the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Lydia married Warren M. Curry on October 21, 1941 at Oregon City, Oregon. He died July 10,1981 in Portland.
Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Curry and Etta Schwab; son, Robert; brother, Walter Thiel; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
