Born Jun 6 1840 and was killed in the Battle of Drainsville, VA Dec 20 1861, Aged 21 years, 6 months, & 14 days. He was a member of Company E 6th Regiment S. C. Volunteers Commanded by his brother Capt. Obadiah Harden and served faithfully as A Volunteer Soldier and fell Nobly in the defence of His Country. He was A most estimable youth and true patriot and universally beloved by all who knew him. None more true, none more brave has laid down his life for the honor and independence of his Country.
