Mother was born on May 17, 1927 in Toquerville, Utah, to John Thomas and Eva Florence Slack Beatty. She lived there all the years of her youth, and cherished the memories of her family and childhood. She was number 19 of 21 children.
After graduating Hurricane High School, she went to Phoenix, Arizona, where she attended Business College and was employed at Luke Field Air Base. A few years later, she returned to Toquerville to be with her Mother and two younger brothers when her father passed away.

They moved to Enterprise where they lived and raised their family. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. To their union they had 4 children; 3 sons, DeLoy Clinton (Penny) of Hurricane, Casey Max, Danny Beatty (Elaine) of Enterprise, and 1 daughter, Faleen (Troy Truce) Truman of Enterprise.
