WM. E. PARSONS
William Emery Parsons, son of George and Sarah Parsons, was born August 31, 1873, near Russell, Ia. and died at his home in Russell on February 10, 1937, at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 9 days.
His boyhood days were spent in the Trinity neighborhood.
He was united in marriage to Anna E. Evans on January 25, 1899 and they located on a farm south of Trinity where they continued to reside until 1933 when they came to Russell.
To this union one son was born, Homer R., of Chariton. On March 13, 1928 his mother passed away. Then on February 18, 1929 his father also passed on and one brother preceded him in death on March 2, 1880.
When but a young boy he was converted and united with the Evangelical Church at Trinity. Later he moved his membership to the Russell Methodist church.
Emery had been in failing health a number of years but bore his sickness with patience. He leaves to mourn his passing his companion, his wife and the one son, three grandchldren, Richard, Keith and Lowell Parsons. Two sisters, Mary Etta Chapman of Chariton, Inez Winona Sears of Melrose and many other relatives and friends.
He was conscious to the last and made part of the arrangements for his funeral.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Thursday at 2:00 p.m. conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. E. Clark and burial was made in the Russell cemetery.
