Baldwin, Dorothy J.
Dorothy J. Baldwin, Ogdensburg, age 72, passed away June 27, 2005 at Appleton Medical Center following a long battle with cancer. I elected to write my own obituary because of my love of genealogy.
I was born on July 19, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Andritsch) Krumbeck. I married Evan J. Baldwin at St. John's Lutheran Church in Milwaukee on October 13, 1951. I worked in Milwaukee at Sears Central Credit and Sears Bay Shore Credit for 12 years. After moving up north, I worked at Sturm & Jensen for 5 years. I was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Symco and a member of the Ladies Aid and LWML. I also kept a record book of the activities of the Ladies Aid through the years. I enjoyed my flowers, gardening and orchard and spent many days canning the various bounties. I loved to crochet, knit, embroider and quilting, my hands never idle. I used to spend many days in the woods hunting squirrels and deer or just thinking and on the lakes in boats and ice fishing until I was unable to do these things. The love of my life was geneology. I always loved history and wrote and donated the Baldwin and Fetzer families' history to the Manawa Library. I started the book on Symco in 2003 that I've always wanted to write.
I am survived by my husband, Evan, my children, John, Hartford, WI, Evan II (Beverly) Milwaukee, grandchildren, Jackie, Evan III and Erica, Milwaukee, and John J., U.S. Air Force, SD. Further survived by a sister-in-law, Lillian Krumbeck, nieces and nephews. I was preceded in death by my parents, step brother, Raymond, 3 brothers, Joseph, John and Edward and a sister, Teri and a sister-in-law Barbara Krumbeck
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Symco, Pastor Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Visitation will be held at Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Symco, Wisconsin.
