From the book "A Book of Remembrance of The Clouse Family Descendants of George Clouse, I" Compiled and Edited by Prietta Clouse Franklin Rt. 2 Box 408 Cookeville, Tennessee 38501:
"Some time after her marriage (probably in the late 1880's) her family moved from the mountain to the "Flat Woods" as it was called at that time and purchased land on the old Smithville Grade, now known as the Bungess Falls Road. Her husband along with his brother, Jesse V., was the original founders of the Samaria Church of Christ. They began meeting in an old log building which became known as Shackle Town. The place was also used for a school for a number of years.
