She was born Feb. 13, 1937, at Bonne Terre, Mo., to James William and Ava Mary Pruitt Cain.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Jones; one son, Jerry Kious; two sisters, Carmel Jean Cain and Edna Marie Painter; and two granddaughters, Amanda and Audrey Jones.
Jo Ann Kious was a homemaker and a member of Strawfloor Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Vaughndel Kious; five daughters, Linda Harris of Bono, Imogene Johnson of Mount Pleasant, Carol Walker of Bay, Sandra Ringle of San Diego and Dianne Turpin of Jonesboro; three sons, Dennis Jones of Cherokee Village, Darrell Jones and Larry Kious, both of Jonesboro; two sisters, Lucille Bice of Hardy and Deloris Ford of Jonesboro; one brother, Frank Cain of Hardy; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in Langford-Bookout Funeral Home at Jonesboro with the Rev. Don Millet officiating. Burial was in Markhum Cemetery at Egypt.
Memorials may be made to the Markhum Cemetery Fund.
Pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.
