Mrs. Miriah Moffet

Mrs. Miriah Moffet, 88, died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.N. Edgar, 2632 Ohio Avenue.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. R.F. Butner of Topeka, and Mrs. A.V. Lang, McCune; one brother, Mitchell Beam of Belle Plane; two sisters, Mrs. M.E. Stearns and Mrs. N.M. Denny of Burlingame.

The body is lying in state at Conwell's Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements. Burial will be in Lynn Creek Cemetery.

Father Gathering on Christmas Day

At a Christmas gathering at the home of Wm. H. Moffet, 10 miles south of Topeka, on Christmas day, were gathered nine of the children and many ofther relatives of Grandma Beam, living with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. H. Moffet.

The following heads of families were represented: Mrs. M.J. Covert and Mrs. M.E. Covert of Glen Elder, Mitchell county; Mrs. M. C. Howey, Mrs. Edgar Denny and Mrs. J.S. Stearns, sisters and children, Shawnee county; A.D. Beam of Cowley county, E.M.C. Beam of Sumner county, and Geo. F. Beam of Shawnee county; two brothers and children, John, Edgar and family, Mrs. Rob Butner and a number of children, Mrs. Van Hovey and daughter and Mr. Adam Lang and family. Also many other relatives making a merry and bright Christmas for Grandma, who has been suffering for several months from a stroke of paralysis. An abundant and palatable dinner was served, with much gladness and cheer.
Grandma is 77, the mother of 12 children, the youngest of which is 36 on Christmas, and all living. Her husband died in 1897.
