Some of the records shows the last name of Johnson and some Johnston, no one seems for sure. Lillies father WHH Johnson was killed in Mazomaine Wisconsin when a saw blade came off and hit him in the head. Leaving her mother Matilda with 5 little girls to raise. Matilda married Mr. George Wakefield the family lore is he arranged for a railroad car to take any one from Mazomaine or Black Earth to go to Nebraska. They were married Mazomaine, Dane co., WI on October 18, 1882.

All of her children are buried in Madrid or Grant with the exception of Harry who is buried in California.
