He was with a group who cut a road from the bend of the Ocmulgee River to Camp Pickney on the St. Mary's River under the command of Brevett Capt. Elijah Blackshear. He was discharged 8 March 1815 at Darien, GA. He received $32.54 for his service.
They had at least six children, all born in Louisiana, before their move to Texas: Letitia Ann, Araminta, James Austin, Mary, Francis Marion, and John Milton Manning.
