Funeral services for Lindsay Carroll Midgett, Sr., 73, of Huntsville will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005 at 3 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Pastor Ron Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18, 2005 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
Mr. Midgett was born on May 30, 1932 in Dare County, North Carolina and passed away on Oct. 17, 2005 in The Woodlands, Texas.
He came from the Midgett family of North Carolina that was instrumental in the formation of the U. S. Coast Guard and served his country in that branch of the military for 12 years. He was a member of the New Beginnings Church in New Waverly.
His parents, Lois O'Neal and Dan Creedon Midgett, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Midgett of Huntsville; daughter, Tina Richie and husband Joe of Mesa, Arizona; sons, Lindsay Midgett, Jr. of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jeffrey Midgett of Manteo, North Carolina, and Michael Midgett of Huntsville; sister, Hilda Brantley of Houma, Louisiana; brothers, Dan Midgett Jr. of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and William Midgett and wife Shirley of Slidell, Louisiana; and six grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Elliott, Ricky Smith, Alex Grant, Les French, Tommy Sparks, and Michael Scism.
