Master Sgt. U.S. Army, WW II (Ret.).

Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Edythe Costner Toms, and his parents, Phillip G. Toms & Lillie Randall Toms.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Jane & Robin Clark and Kay Toms-Knight; son and daughter-in-law, Terry & Lou Toms; grandchildren, Travis & Abby Toms; two step-grandchildren, Jesse & Daniel Knight; sister, Lena Mae Watson.

Interment with full military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard, followed funeral services conducted Sunday, December 16, 2007; Rev. Michael Lineberger presided.
