"Born at Groton 1750, married Elizabeth Little of Shirley 1774. He d. at Shirley 1794 (MVR, no record). He lived in the west section of the town, on the farm, and, as some suppose, in the very dwelling of the late Luke Holden (now the home of Zopher Jones). The name of Jonas Parker, Jr. is included in the report made by Cap. Henry Haskell, to the colonial authorities, 1775, as one of the volunteers under his command from Shirley, on the Alarm of April 19, 1775. The person of the general notice must have been the person intended; his son Jonas Parker, Jr. was at this time only about 6 months old."
