NEW BEDFORD, MA — Caroline F. (Roche) Robinson, 82, of New Bedford, died June 23, 2009, at home after a long illness. She was the wife of William C. Robinson.

Born in Marlborough, MA, the daughter of the late Francis J. and Catherine (Kehoe) Roche, she lived in New Bedford most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Mrs. Robinson was formerly employed as a guidance counselor at several local schools before retiring from Dartmouth High School after 17 years.

She received her B.S. in education and M.S. in education from Bridgewater State College and enrolled in the Doctorate Program at Boston University.

Mrs. Robinson enjoyed spending time with her family at the family cottage at Crescent Beach in Mattapoisett. Her husband was a veteran of Korea, having served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Dr. David Robinson of New Bedford; a brother, David Roche of Bridgeport, CT; 3 sisters, Anne Mahoney and Martha Berger, both of New Bedford and Ellen Sylvia of Port St. Lucie, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was the sister of the late Kathleen Wood.

Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 12 Noon in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
