Andrew Rench was commissioned Lt. Col. under the command of Thomas Johnson, Jr.,who ranked at that time as first Brigadier General, and under John Stull, Col. of the First Battalion of the upper district of Frederick County. This section becoming Washington County in September of 1776. This commission of Lt. Col. was given in convention at Annapolis on January 3, 1776.
Age 60yrs.

There is no evidence that I have found that Andrew, his father, brothers, sister had a "t" in their name. Michael, Andrew's first son is the first to show a "t".
