At Spring Creek (near Harper, TX) Caroline was captured by Kiowa Indians - 1865, ransomed by US Government. Husband,James Eli McDonald, Sr. was killed by Kiowa Indians at the "McDonald Massacre", Aug.8,1865.

2)Married: Thomas Peter Hazelwood (b,1835,Ill.) Dec. 24, 1868, Gillespie Co., TX(DOB 1835,DOD 1873)Husband Peter Hazelwood killed by Indians.
