Mr. F. W. (Dinkie) Blount, 62, died Saturday night (January 4, 2002) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was a native of Waycross and had resided most of his life in Waycross. He was a son of the late George G. Blount and Bernadine DeLoach Blount.

Mr. Blount was retired from CSX Railroad and was a member of Deenwood Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was the first Ware County High School Student to win a scholarship to the University of Georgia.

The survivors include his wife, Judy Blount of Waycross; a daughter, Terry Coleman (husband Stock) of Waycross; two sons, Timmy Blount of Waycross, Scott Blount of Atlanta; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Hurst; two brothers, Randy Blount (wife Mary Jane) of Waycross, Ed Blount (wife Katie) of Perry; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday night from 6 until 8 o'clock.
