Staunton, VA - November 24
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the residence for Joshua Haws Woodson, who died here early yesterday morning after a five weeks illness. His pastor, the Rev. I. T. Jacobs, of the First Baptist Church officiated, assisted by the Rev. Dr. G. C. Martin of Central Methodist Church. Burial was in Thornrose Cemetery.
Mr. Woodson was born in Nelson County, a son of Joshua A. and Mary E. Woodson. He came to Staunton when a young man and for more than 40 years had been engaged in the milling business, at one time with the late John L. Hoy, but in recent years by himself. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Sallie B. Woodson and a sister, Mrs. R. N. Henderson of Richmond.
