Rose E. ''Corky'' Henninger, 85, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Plano, Texas. She was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1941. On May 26, 1945 she married J.E. Henninger of Ada, OKlahoma, and they made their home in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her father, Fred Sherbon, her mother, Lucy Hicks Sherbon and one brother, Ernest A. Sherbon. She is survived by two brothers, Kenneth (Barbara) Sherbon of Odessa, TX and Dewey (Oralene) Sherbon of Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by her son, Chris (Gladys) Henninger of Dallas, TX and her daughter, Dian (Ken) Strunk of Burlington, WI; granddaughters, Kris Tibbetts, Karen (Myron) Taylor and grandsons, Chad (Dana) Henninger and Harry (Shannon) Strunk; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. During her working years she was a secretary at several Oklahoma City businesses including the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. She was also a member of the National Association of Executive Secretaries. She was a faithful member of Penn Avenue Christian Church where she participated in various activities. Rose enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, crocheting, playing Bridge and was an avid OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys football fan. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 27 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano, TX. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements completed by Eastgate Funeral Home, Garland, TX.
