Services for Evalyn Maude Parker Bradshaw, 88, of Paris, formerly of Lufkin, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Henderson Chapel of First United Methodist Church of Lufkin, with Dr. Jack Shelton and Rev. Keith Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bradshaw was born March 21, 1915 in Manning, Angelina County, Texas, to the late Samuel Reagan and Freddie Luker Parker, and she died Thursday, April 10, 2003 in Paris, Texas, where she resided with her daughter for the past two years.
Mrs. Bradshaw resided in Lufkin for most of her life. She attended S.M.U. and was a graduate of The University of Texas, Austin. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and the Leach Sunday School Class. She was a member of Tri Delta Sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma (an honorary teacher's society), and Friends of the Kurth Memorial Library. She was a former president and honorary life member of the Lufkin Historical and Literary Club, of which her mother was a founding member. Evalyn taught in the Lufkin Public Schools as a Reading Clinician for many years.
She married Barney Bradshaw on July 31, 1938 in Lufkin. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1996.
Mrs. Bradshaw is survived by her daughter, Emily Bradshaw Kirkman and husband, John of Paris; a son, Stephan Bradshaw of Austin; grandchildren, Bill and Linda Kirkman, Scott and Rosanne Kirkman of Atlanta, Georgia, Mike and Elizabeth Kirkman of Lufkin, Patrick Bradshaw, Katie Bradshaw, Silke Schwartz and Joaquin Morin, all of Austin; great grandchildren include Kendall Kirkman, Hallie Kirkman, Sara Kirkman, Reagan Kirkman, Calvin Martin and Jasper Martin; sister-in-law, Lenore Parker; two nieces, Jinny Copeland and Elaine Flowers of Florida; a cousin, Virginia Trube of Tyler; and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Pittman of Austin.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Reagan Franklin Bradshaw in 1998.
Pallbearers will be Bill Kirkman, Scott Kirkman, Mike Kirkman, Patrick Bradshaw, John Trube and Larry Norton....
