This above statement is incorrect. His parents were John Rogers and Rachel Eastham of King & Queen County, Virginia. Per Duke genealogy, Mary Byrd married James Duke, son of Col. Henry Duke and they were married until he died. Mary Byrd would have been in her 50's when the last several children of John Rogers were born. Mary Byrd's brother, Col. William Byrd II, recorded her marriage and visits he made to the Duke home in his diaries.
