Robert A. Binsz, 90, Hemet, Calif., formerly of Fosston, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in Hemet.

Robert Arnold Binsz was born May 14, 1909, the son of Chris and Catherine Binsz, in Grand Forks. He moved with his family to Bagley, Minn., in 1925. He married Viola Braaten in November 1931. He worked construction jobs and county road maintenance until 1936. In 1936, they bought the Braaten homestead, where they farmed. In 1970, they retired from farming, and moved to Fosston. He worked as an equipment mechanic for Berge-Peterson Implement, Fosston, and Fosston Implement until the fall of 1997. In 1997, they moved to Hemet.

He is survived by his wife; children, Darald (Evelyn), Winterville, Ga., JoAnn (Clifford) Larson, Hemet, and Lynette (Mike) Gilbertson, Bloomington, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother; and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14., Bethel Assembly Church, Fosston.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, Fosston.

Burial: Mamre Cemetery, Hill River Township, Polk County, Minn. Memorials are suggested to missionaries Bill and Irene Lindberg in El Salvador or Gleanings for the Hungry.
