He served in the Army during World War I. Artist painted in the tradition of the Pennsylvania Impressionists.He did portrait and landscape. He lived in West Pittston,Pa.until 1957 with his wife ,Sinclaire Westbrook Barritt, moved to Charlottesville, in her native Virgina. His father was Walter Sunderland Barritt and his grandfather was Thomas Barritt who came from England in 1849.
