MRS. FANNIE M. RICHARDS, TEACHER AT BENTON DIES

Mrs. Fannie Mary Hutcheson Richards, aged 63, a teacher for 37 years and the current librarian at Benton High School, died Saturday at a Little Rock hospital. She has served as principal of the Benton Junior High School and a teacher in the schools of Saline County since she was 16 years of age, and at Henderson State Teachers College during summer months.

Mrs. Richards was a member of the First Methodist church, where she was a teacher of an adult Sunday school class, a charter member and served as president of the Benton Business and Professional Women's Club and vice president of the state Business and Professional Women's Club.

She helped organize and was, until recently, president of Classroom Teachers Association and Saline County Teachers Association. She was a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and had earned a degree from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1933 and Masters degree from the University of Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband Floyd Richards, a son, Reverend Charles W Richards of Little Rock; three daughters, Mrs. Sarabel Langley of Little Rock, Mrs. Mary Ann Lilly of Carlisle, and Mrs. Wanda Underwood of Kingman, Arizona; her mother Mrs. Belle Hutcheson of Benton; a brother, Charles Hutcheson of Benton; two sisters, Mrs. Myra Adams and Mrs. Annabell Howard of Benton, and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at First Methodist Church of Benton by Reverend H. O. Bolin and Reverend Henry Riker of Benton, and Reverend Francis A Buddin of Little Rock. Pallbearers will be nephews. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery by Sims Funeral Service.
