Georgia Alice Meeks, was born 18 Mar 1891, in Milledgeville, Baldwin County, Georgia, the daughter of Henry F. "Mac" McCoy and Eliza Brown. Georgia died at the age of 56 years old. She was a resident of 1 North Dallas Avenue, she died at the Huntsville Hospital this morning, after a lengthy illness. She was employed at Dallas Mill until her illness.
Funeral services will be held from the Fifth Street Baptist Church at 4 p.m. tomorrow by the Rev. Jack Carroll, with the Rev. M.G. Wilson assisting. Laughlin-Service funeral home will be in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Willie Pearl (Perry) Chisam and two grandchildren, Carolyn Gayle Chisam and Jerry Doyle Chisam. Her husband, Clayton E. Meeks died 20 Dec 1925, Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama. Georgia also had 8 brothers and 5 sisters all from Georgia.
Active pallbearers will be George McCaleb, Charlie Gentry, V.J. Stolz, Marshall Malone, C.V. Fain and Otto Neal. Honorary was Dan Harrison, John Harrison, Ashford Todd, Eugene Heard, Clarence Carroll, Louis Wise, and J.E. Gunn.
