Mae (Adams) Nix Woolery of Shawnee died Tuesday in Shawnee. She was 89.

She was born July 11, 1911, in Tecumseh to James and Rachel Matilda (Henderson) Adams.

Mrs. Woolery, who attended school at Ruggles, was reared south of Tecumseh and lived in Oklahoma City for 32 years.

She moved to Shawnee in 1992.

She was married to Fay Woolery, who preceded her in death in 1974.

Mrs. Woolery owned and operated a restaurant in Tecumseh and worked as a seamstress making drapes for homes.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Agnes Blessing and Vera Roper, and five brothers, Roy, Ray, Chester, Paul and Orville Adams.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Jaqueta Nix of Shawnee; two brothers, Jim Adams of Shawnee; Richard Adams of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kathy and Randy Childers of Bethel; Glenna and Rick McElhany of Bethel; four great-grandchildren, Kyle Childers, Kris Childers, Jessica McElhany and Steven McElhany.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Glen Pence, Hospice of Shawnee chaplain, officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.
