J. P. McClure, died at his home, on Wednesday. Interment Sunday afternoon, in Shawnee cemetery nearby. Mr McClure was the son of Samuel McClure, one of the first settlers in Allen county. He was reared on a farm near this city and when the Civil War broke out enlisted in the Thirty-second O. V. I. Upon his return he married Miss Laura Breritlinger, and resided in Shawnee township the remainder of his life with the exception of the past two years when he lived in this city. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Laura McClure, and five children, J. L. and W. O. McClure, Mrs. Moller Coe, Mrs. Maud Coon, and Mrs. Lola Zuber, Frank McClure, a brother and Mrs. Belle Rise, a sister, also survice.
