Benjamin Chilton Hobbs was born 24 Nov. 1844. During the Civil War, he served with the 35th TX Cavalry, Co. K. He married Letitia C. Buchanan on 24 Nov. 1867 in Rusk Co., TX. She was born 31 March 1848, died 23 March 1929. He died 04 July 1898. She applied for Widow's Pension #33107 on 04 May 1916 while living at Ben Wheeler. She was 67 years of age at the time and stated that she was born in Lincoln Co., TN, that she had lived in Texas 64 years and in the county 49 years. They were both buried at Tidmore Cemetery....Civil War Veterans of Van Zandt Co. TX
