She was also the proud grandmother of four-month-old Colten, son of Jeff and his wife Rachel. Diane's courageous battle with leukemia was fought with the same courage and strength she exemplified throughout her life. Her sincere compassion and sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew her. She demonstrated her devotion to helping others as an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels as well as other charitable and civic endeavors. Her strong work ethic and culinary skills led to her long-term success in the restaurant industry, including the inception and management of the award-winning Fairmount Martini & Wine Bar.
In addition to expressing appreciation to the nursing staff at the Cleveland Clinic's Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, the family would like to give special thanks to Diane's dearest friend, Lori Barber, for the incredible care and steadfast support she provided throughout her illness. The love of Diane's family and close circle of friends is testament to the remarkable person she was. While we deeply mourn the loss of Diane in our lives, we rejoice in knowing that her love lives on in each of us forever. Join us to share some tears and laughter as we honor this special woman's memory and celebrate her life.
Family will receive friends on TUESDAY, JUNE 23 FROM 2-4 AND 6-8 P.M. AT THE STROUD-LAWRENCE FUNERAL HOME, 95 SOUTH FRANKLIN ST., CHAGRIN FALLS.
The service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, June 24 at 11 a.m., followed by the procession to Munn Cemetery in Newbury. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
