Marysvale - Funeral Held for Merle Cottrell
Impressive and well attended were the funeral services held Monday afternoon in the L. D. S. chapel for Mrs. Merle Gibbs Cottrell, who died Friday in the hospital at Richfield. John Oscarson and J. W. Robinson were the speakers. The opening prayer was by Bishop I. L. Foisey; the benediction by Mayor W. L. Warner of Richfield. Mr. Cottrell of Kaysville dedicated the grave.
Mrs. Cottrell was born at Marysvale January 2, 1906, and spent her early life here. She graduated from St. Marks Training school for nurses in 1928. She married Kelton Cottrell in November, 1933. Surviving are her husband; one son, Lane K., her mother, Mrs. Pearl Gibbs and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Vera Jensen of Salt Lake, Mrs. Lois Parks of Marysvale, Harvey and Kermit Gibbs of San Diego, and Leon Gibbs of Marysvale. A great number of relatives and friends from California, Kaysville and Richfield attended the funeral.
