Gary died at 6:15pm on Sunday October 24,on U.S. Hwy 61 near St. Francisville. He was 16 years old and a native of Evanston,Ill,a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a student at Tara High School. Welsh Funeral Home had funeral arrangments. Religious services were held at First Assembly of God Church. Survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth J DeZwaan,his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob DeZwaan,and great-grandmother,Mrs. John DeZwaan all of Great Rapides,Mich. He was a member of Canal Street Presbyterian Church in New Orleans. Pallbearers were Ray Miller, George Kroger,Wayne Austin,Bob Bowling,Murty Fox and Bill Courtney.

He along with his sisters Callie and Carol and a friend Helen Lawlis were all killed in a car accident.
